About QUILL
QUILL (Quality In Lifelong Learning) Learning Network is one of 16 regional literacy networks in Ontario funded by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities. Based in Walkerton, Ontario, it serves the counties of Bruce, Grey, Huron, Perth and the region known as The Georgian Triangle.
QUILL works closely with government-funded Literacy and Basic Skills (LBS) Agencies that deliver free upgrading opportunities for adults who are:
- 19 years old or over
- Out of school
- Want to upgrade their essential skills for employment, further education or independence
QUILL is a non-profit, charitable organization and can issue tax receipts for donations received over $10.
QUILL SERVICES
QUILL is funded to:
- Work with Literacy and Basic Skills agencies to develop a community plan that ensures there is the appropriate level of flexible programming available to adults in the region
- Provide support, training and resources to agency staff, volunteers and adult learners
- Act as an information broker to agencies and the public about government and other literacy initiatives
- Provide public education to community agencies, employers and the general public about literacy awareness and services in the region
- Provide information and referral services to agencies and adults about literacy and upgrading programs in the region through its toll-free learning hotline
- Participate and manage literacy research and development projects that help further the field of literacy locally, regionally and provincially
